Accounting Analyst (Assistant)

USG is a national E&S wholesaler and MGA. Position works to support and on behalf of our corporate accounting team. USG seeking an entry to mid-level position based in our Tampa, FL headquarters. Position provides opportunity to advance into additional cross-trained roles.

Office Hours: 8:30-5:00 Local Time

Compensation: Based on Experience and includes comprehensive health coverage, life insurance, 401k with company match, paid time off, etc…

Desired Qualifications: 

• Candidates should be located near the Tampa, FL area.

• 2- 3 years of AP, AR and bank reconciliation experience.

• Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail for reconciling items, strong data entry skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines

• Willingness to be cross-trained in Accounting areas

• Strong Knowledge of Windows based software applications especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook

• Desired software experience with SAGE (MAS 90) and Image Right.

  Responsibilities:

• The following responsibilities will be based on skillset and trained over a period of time:

• Verify, reconcile and timely pay trade payables, state authority vendor invoices and expense reports

• Prepare & process: Online, ACH, wire and check payments

• Manually apply ACH/check and batch upload customer receipts

• Manually enter insurance policy data into States websites

• Bank reconciliation processes

• Perform daily sales reconciliation status of AMx operating system to Sage software

• Review for accuracy and submit State required forms

• Scan and image invoices and statements.

• Open and sort mail

• Provide weekly/monthly cycle processing status to Supervisor/Manager

• Provide ideas to improve process efficiencies to Manager and CFO.

• Encompass the goal/attitude of providing excellent customer service.

• Other duties as assigned.
