This position is responsible for the maintenance and quality control of a central parts/equipment inventory located at the North Florida Shop and maintaining an inventory on service vehicles for mechanics and technicians throughout the state. Parts/equipment inventory includes but not limited to stocking and supply of all repair parts, rigging parts, radio parts, computer accessories and shop supplies. Perform periodic purging of outdated and antiquated parts/equipment. Position will assist with determining specific levels of required stock items to ensure availability of parts is met.

Responsible for accurately tracking the movement of inventory, maintain files as needed to assure proper documentation and accountability of the inventory and prepare reports as required. This includes daily data entry of inventory system. Actively responds to both immediate and long term needs of North Florida Shop mechanics, and technicians.

This position directly receives all part orders/requests from field and shop. Responsible for initiating purchase orders to ensure inventory is maintained at satisfactory levels, the receiving and proper processing of parts and supplies from vendors and the timely shipment of parts to field mechanics and technicians. Assists the shop superintendent and floor supervisor with purchasing activities including but not limited to obtaining required quotes; periodically meet with vendors to assist with the evaluation new products.

Provide administrative support to the shop and the superintendent including answering incoming phone calls and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail. Assist with other clerical duties necessary such as research, reporting and filing. This position will also supervise one OPS employee.

This position will perform all other duties and related work as required.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Knowledge of record-keeping procedures. Ability to maintain an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment. Ability to conduct studies pertaining to stock use, inventory mix and price structure. Ability to prioritize workload. Ability to develop various reports. Ability to initiate purchase orders. Ability to assess budgetary needs. Ability to evaluate products. Ability to interview others. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to operate a forklift. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass a level 2 background check.

  • Able to lift at least 70 pounds daily.

  • Have two years' experience dealing with automotive or marine parts inventory.

  • Have a minimum of two years' experience with inventory control.

  • Have a valid driver's license.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Must have experience with MyFlorida Marketplace.

  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience with invoice processing and budget management.

  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience with shipping and receiving parts and inventory.

  • Have experience with budget analysis and monitoring.

  • Must be able to work a four-day ten-hour shift
