MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Two (2) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Must obtain Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certificate within 10 months of appointment.
Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

JOB DUTIES:
This is an intermediate-level position that performs a variety of routine and non-routine maintenance and repair functions to the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) and mechanical systems in the Conner Complex Labs, Conner Administration Building, Mayo Building and as required at any other facilities owned by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Such duties and responsibilities require the incumbent to accomplish tasks related to refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
Performs and completes necessary repairs. Performs inspection, operation and repair of various types of mechanical equipment such as pumps, electrical motors, Air Handling Units (AHU’s), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), Variable Air Volumes (VAV’s), boilers, water heaters, chillers, fans, ducts, hydraulic systems, or hydronic systems. Monitors Siemens controls and gauges to determine and maintain proper equipment operation in accordance with standard operating procedures or manufacturer requirements.
Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC, boiler or chiller equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures or manufacturer requirements, such as changing filters, lubricating bearings, adjusting belts and keeping drains clear. Keeps debris cleaned from around equipment and roof tops.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date preventative maintenance records on HVAC system, boilers and chillers. Ensures all required inspections are scheduled and completed in a timely manner. Manages vendor contracts and relationships for HVAC, boiler and chiller equipment.
Performs other- related duties as required. Assist maintenance section with duties as needed.
