Requirements:

Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.

Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET) Monday through Friday.

Work at the FWC is cross-functional, meaning duties may cross division/office lines. The Commission expects employees to function across FWC's organizational structure by providing their skills and expertise wherever needed through work on teams or as directed.

Valid US Driver’s License.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must receive approval for access to the Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS)

  • Must possess High School Diploma and at least one year employment experience working in a professional office environment performing administrative functions

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have professional experience working with confidential information and/or Law Enforcement

  • Preference will be given to candidates with Florida State Personnel Human Resources experience

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains subject area expertise and current methodology to comprehensively administer and direct all phases of FWC HR functions related to unemployment compensation, and drug and alcohol testing.

  • Administers and reviews fingerprints and background checks within the rules and regulations of FDLE and CCIS.

  • Respondent to Ask FWC inquiries, handles Financial Disclosure reporting for the agency, affirmative action plans, veterans’ preference reporting, unemployment compensation and other duties as assigned.

  • Assists HR Director with Labor Relations issues, investigations, and contract negotiations.

  • Demonstrates courteous and respectful while assisting others in a positive and proactive manner.

  • Corroborate with HR Liaisons as appropriate.

  • Improve knowledge of FWC's mission to be better informed to provide assistance and information to staff and the public.

  • Attend training opportunities that focus in improving people skills.

  • Ensure requested tasks/requests for information/projects are completed in a timely manner and handled professionally.

  • Ensure options available to the customer are offered with advice on the pros and cons of each option.

  • Independently analyzes problems and proposes and implements solutions.

  • Produces reports, print and electronic correspondence, presentations and other work products to meet objectives of the product as agreed upon between the employee and the supervisor, using proper grammar and ensuring the document flows in an understandable and logical way.

  • Ensures oral presentations are well prepared and flow in an understandable and logical way.

  • Other Duties as assigned
