Role Overview :

This highly visible role will be tasked with ensuring the proper execution and review of financial transactions, inclusive of ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role will also be instrumental in helping educate others within the organization about proper internal controls as well as how financial transactions may impact their reported results.

On a typical day you will:

Activities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall responsibility for NAA Maintenance Accounting and analysis, including, on an as needed basis, review of contracts, performance obligations, segmentation, etc

  • Responsible for supporting

  • Monthly General Ledger Closing and HFM reporting, including monthly and quarterly balance sheet and P&L reviews. Will have a level of responsibility for the timely preparation of these deliverables and identifying unusual activity and/or any exposures

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly deliverables to WHQ

  • Support presentations to management including Quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews and 302 Meetings

  • Shared service center oversight, coordination, and support

  • OGSC Fixed Asset and Intangible oversight, coordination, and support. Will be specifically responsible for:

  • Periodic reviews of FAIP and timeliness of in progress projects

  • Otis One capitalization monitoring

  • Intangible asset reconciliations and amortization schedules

  • Intangible asset triggering events assessment

  • Application and identification of technical accounting issues relative to capitalized assets, leases, and revenue recognition

  • Balance Sheet account reconciliation review and analysis

  • Review and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries

  • Assist the business in understanding the underlying transactions impacting their financial performance

  • Assist in maintaining internal controls, desktop procedures, administer department policies and procedures to assure robust internal controls.

  • Identify areas of improvement and drive operational efficiencies

  • Support tax compliance matters

  • Other ad hoc projects as required

What You Will Need to be Successful :

You should have:

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed expectations and drive results

  • Proven success with communicating effectively across multiple organizational layers and departments and ability to influence others

Education / Certifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, auditing or finance required

  • MS in Accounting, Finance, or Business

  • CPA

Technical Skills:

  • Self-starter who takes ownership and initiative

  • Intellectual curiosity, with the ability to identify process enhancements that may improve business performance (e.g., automation tools)

  • Strong interpretation, analytical and summarization skills; able to interpret data and come up with observations and recommendations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Teamwork- able to work out complex problems with a team

  • Experience in coordinating activities with offshore teams

  • Must be able to work additional hours as required due to time-sensitive deadlines

  • Strong PC skills including advanced knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), JD Edwards, Smart View, and QlikView preferred

  • Advanced skills in Excel (Pivot tables, vLookup)
