Global Merchant Services, the merchant network of American Express, acquires and maintains relationships with millions of merchants around the world who welcome American Express-branded Cards. U.S. Merchant Acquisition and Supplier Enablement (MASE) is an organization comprised of 140 professionals dedicated to signing and enabling U.S. merchants for AXP Card acceptance.

The Analyst - Sales Enablement role lies within the U.S. Sales Enablement Team, which provides but not limited to; the support of compliant application of the Rules of Engagement by the field staff, implementation support, training, tools, technology, and consultative support for prioritized initiatives – all in an effort to support the front-line Merchant Acquisition sales team’s performance.

This Analyst - Sales Enablement role will focus on Implementation, Rules of Engagement /Business Conduct, Training and Knowledge Management support for all MS - U.S Merchant Acquisition (MASE) colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have a record of high performance, with an ability to work independently as deadlines and urgency require. Additionally, they will possess the flexibility to pivot and shift priorities as the demands of the team, business and industry require. It is the responsibility of the Project Analyst to interpret Merchant Acquisition Rules of Engagement (ROE) and operational procedures to ensure the business remains compliant and adheres to policy. These rules are strictly enforced to protect the merchant and the shareholder. It is imperative that the candidate have a strong understanding of Merchant Acquisition policy and be confident in pushing back on sales team and senior leadership when applicable.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Understand and Interpret the Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Merchant Acquisition.Apply rules to all sales effort and push back on sales team and leadership when applicable.

  • Proactively support the merchant sales organization, interacting daily with sales teams as well as sales leaders

  • Partner across various groups to prioritize process improvements and execute their implementation.

  • Manage a case load that requires multiple onboarding tasks simultaneously for multiple merchants and sales colleagues.

  • Serve as back up to Sr Manager, Training & KM as required, with functional knowledgeable on key business priorities

  • Help elevate the Merchant Acquisition / Sales Enablement perception and brands across the wider organization. Continuing to demonstrate best in class performance with vigilant business conduct and compliance, while generating “neighborhood envy” for our team.

Skills

  • Functional knowledge of the MSUS Merchant Organization highly preferred.

  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple lines of business, various stakeholders, and constituencies. (Ex. Business Conduct, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Pricing such as GMS Training, Operational Excellence, Marketing).

  • Project management experience a plus

  • Keen attention to detail, high degree of accountability and integrity required.

  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment and prioritization.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Merchant Force, MS3, Excel, Tableau and/or other Analytic skills/proficiency preferred

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), presenting to senior audiences, stakeholder management, and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and comfort challenging the status quo

  • Ability to drive results and manage multiple initiatives in parallel

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, coordinating demands from multiple partners, key stakeholders, internal colleagues, and external vendors.

  • Ambitious self-starter, with a strong work ethic, intense will-to-win, and demonstrated personal excellence

  • Ability to travel (up to 10%)

  • Enthusiastic, fun, flexible and demonstrates a willingness to elevate the larger organization!

  • BA/BS degree highly preferred and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), presenting to senior audiences, stakeholder management, and influencing skills at all levels in an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional knowledge of the MSUS Merchant Organization highly preferred.

  • Merchant Force, MS3, Excel, Tableau and/or other Analytic skills/proficiency preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually bonus benefits
