Job Summary and Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

• Bachelor’s degree required in recreation therapy or in one of the recognized related activity therapy fields such as music, art, dance, or occupational therapy as outlined in CMS standards for inpatient psychiatric care.

• If permitted by state requirements a licensed consultant can be retained to supervise and sign assessments, progress notes and all activity director responsibilities.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

• Licensed or certified in recreation therapy of recognized related fields such as music, art, dance, or occupational therapy preferred

• BLS-American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Provider issued card required

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required

New hire/internal transfer employee must have Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) by the end of their first week in any Behavioral Health Group department

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date

• Other-Fingerprint Required
