Talladega College Assistant Professor of Business Administration in Talladega, Alabama

Assistant Professor of Business Administration Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Business Administration to teach in the following disciplines (Accounting, Finance, Economics, and/or Marketing) in the Division of Business Administration. The Division of Business Administration is one of four academic divisions at Talladega College. This is a full-time, 9-month, on-site, tenure-track position and is slated to begin in Fall 2024 (Spring 2024 is also an option).

About the College Talladega College, Alabama's first private historically Black liberal arts college, has been known for academic excellence for over 150 years. It is listed among the Princeton Review's Best Colleges in the Southeast; US News and World Report's best national liberal arts colleges, best HBCUs and Top Performers on Social Mobility; and Kiplinger's Best Value colleges and universities.

The campus is on a plateau about 700 feet above sea level in the heart of a fertile valley in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a quiet place - away from the distractions and fast pace of urban living, yet conveniently close to neighboring cities that offer extensive cultural and entertainment outlets as well as shopping, restaurants, and theaters. The college is just 25 miles south of the city of Anniston, Alabama, 50 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama, 85 miles north of Montgomery, Alabama, and 100 miles west of Atlanta, Georgia.

Division of Business The Division of Business has an enrollment of over 250+ students with 6 full-time faculty members. The Division offers the B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in management, accounting, marketing, and finance and banking and a M.B.A. with concentrations in accounting, finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship, healthcare management, and logistics.

Responsibilities Teach graduate and undergraduate courses within the business administration curriculum including but not limited to accounting, economics, legal, finance, data analytics, marketing, banking, or other courses based on the selected candidates credentials. Advise business administration majors (includes evaluating student transfer credit when the student initially enrolls at the college) at the graduate and undergraduate level. Assess student learning outcomes, engage in program review, and document data-driven strategies for improvement. Serve on program, division, and institutional committees. Supervise student internships and interact with prospective employers. Actively participate in curriculum development and revisions for all programs within the division. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Provost.

Minimum Qualifications A doctorate, from a regionally accredited institution in a business discipline. A team player including ability to collaborate with colleagues. Successful experience using and incorporating technology in and out of the classroom to engage students. Demonstrated experience or ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse collegiate community and to cultivate an inclusive environment for students. Excellent organizational, management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Commitment to excellence, integrity, flexibility, dependability, and a respectful and collaborative disposition.

Preferred Qualifications Practical experience in business. Successful college teaching experience. Ability to teach a range of business courses.
