As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team or task forces by implementing sound manufacturability practices using Design for Qualities techniques.

  • Drive early project engagement and coordinate SMEs (subject matter experts) resources to identify and mitigate project NUDD (New, Unique, Different, Difficult) for future technologies.

  • Hands on leader who can drive the complex technical solutions across hardware NPI development cycle to improve product quality.

  • Ensuring design elements are fully validated by wide scale testing protocols and comply with design for quality principles (DFQ).

  • Work directly with supplier leadership team to drive the continuous improvement culture

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS degree in Materials Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing the team and leading the large-scale taskforce

  • 10+ years of working experience in product quality discipline in Electronics Industry.

  • Demonstrated experience as natural leader of cross functional teams in a fast-paced environment is essential.

  • Experience in product quality, reliability or product engineering for PCB, PCBA and Electronic assembly

  • Solid understanding of quality tools such as 8D, CLCA, SPC, Pareto charts, DFMEA, GR&R, FAI, CPK, PPAP etc.

  • Familiar with measurements, ability to identify program NUDD, product CTQ & process CTP.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), good presenter and storyteller with excellent logic.

Preferred:

  • Experience at DFM. Preferably in OEM/ODM/CM industry

  • Deep understanding of PCB, PCBA and server assembly process
