Supporting the development and adoption of next generation technologies used in Smartphones, AR, VR and Wearable Products. This role requires an individual with deep knowledge of IC designs for silicon backplanes, ASICs and/or imaging sensors. This position reports to the Sr. Director, of Smart Mobile Devices & Wearables End Market. GlobalFoundries is a leader in silicon foundry offering dozens of differentiated silicon platforms & technologies. We are looking for a leader who will extend our position and grow the business in Smartphone and Wearables Devices. This Senior Manager/Deputy Director will be an organizational leader, driving GF strategic investments in imaging and display technologies and lead large ($>200m+), complex multiyear long-term agreements with customers. The right applicant will have a combination of business acumen and technical capability to interact with customer BUs and R&D teams with high level of technical detail and offer solutions to their present needs and collaboratively formulating their future roadmap requirements. A core requirement for this individual is the ability to translate customer requirements to market requirements document (MRD) and assist in the development of process technology requirements (PRD) as a deliverable to our technology solutions organization. This includes device requirements, PDK and design flow requirements, IP requirements and competitive technology benchmarking needs. This individual will work with the technology development, design enablement, finance, manufacturing, strategic marketing, and sales teams to develop the necessary product offering inputs for a successful approval exit. This role will be responsible for establishing the offering business case and by working closely with business development, sales and execution/operations, drive the business to generate profitable revenue for the business line.Responsibilities:  

  • Understand market dynamics and requirements for the Mobile display drivers, imaging and sensors

  • Interaction with customers in partnership with sales to drive profitable revenue growth

  • Define the market requirements, creating market requirement document (MRDs) for new process technology and design IP

  • Providing mobile display and imaging end market and system knowledge to downstream teams to influence GlobalFoundries process technologies and design enablement

  • Create and deploy compelling presentation collateral (Sales kit) on GlobalFoundries unique processes and provide sales team training for optimal customer adoption

  • Marketing campaigns and go-to-market strategy in partnership with marketing team

  • Drive the business case including scope, schedule, resources, demand, and pricing model to deliver a technology solution at returns consistent with GlobalFoundries growth objectives.

  • Create a sense of urgency and drive clarity across multi-functional teams to achieve business objectives.  Identify issues and address them head-on using data to move complex multi-site programs forward.

  • Serve as a champion of technology solutions with strong external presence at customer, technology conferences, trade shows, webinars, etc.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:             

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering or related field

  • 10+ Years of Experience in Display or Imaging or Sensing Semiconductor Product Field; 5+ year in a leadership role

  • Experience in analog, mixed-signal (bias, amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, etc.) and digital IC design flows and layout

  • Expertise working with relevant display (LCD, OLED, LCoS and uLED), sensing technologies (SPAD, SWIR ) or imaging (CIS) products

  • Language:  Fluency in English

  • Travel Requirements:  25% of travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration

  • Product management and domain knowledge of display driver and/or image sensors technologies

  • Deep knowledge of IC designs in silicon backplanes, and how process technology interacts with display system design

  • Basic understanding of photodiode structure and operation

  • Experience (preferably in industry) in design of CMOS Image sensor system components including ADCs, pixel array control, bias and reference circuits, digital control, and overall sensor integration into a camera system

  • Strong background in analog and mixed-signal IC design, with a track record of involvement in multiple successful tape-outs and product rollouts. •

  • Understanding of advanced CMOS and/or SOI processes features and how they impact display drivers and imaging integrated circuits

  • Knowledge of Semiconductor design and development flows

  • Experience managing customer quality issues

  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and proactive work ethic.  Ability to identify opportunities and independently pursue.

  • Experience in working with international and diverse teams and with multiple levels of management.

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.  Good communicator and comfortable presenting to executive management and technical audiences.
