Job Description
Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific established a Global Business Services (GBS) organization to provide consistent, exceptional service to its businesses. The GBS Project Management Specialist, will lead the execution of the program management and ensure that critical activities get the right focus. They will be responsible for managing the program activities and tracking critical program milestones. The GBS Transition Support Specialist is a critical role for ensuring smooth program execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with key program stakeholders and ensure the program implementation across workstreams and business groups
Track & review the status of the program against the implementation plan
Manage weekly and monthly reporting cadence and ad-hoc reports – including exec level reports & presentations
Closely review the follow up process related to any open risks, issues, actions, and decisions – own the escalate process in case if critical issues and drive to find mitigation strategies
Support completion of project plans and PM Milestone deliverables
Coordinate key process mapping workshops
Manage information collection during site visits, or remotely
Support the development of the Learning/Training Needs Documentation, development of SOP’s and WIN’s
Manage Knowledge Transfer requirements for new hires in the GBS centers, including development of Knowledge Transfer sessions calendar & coordination of resources required
Conduct periodic project plan assessments and manage preparation of regular program working sessions – including milestone reviews to ensure readiness and quality of the projects
Gathering project information and ensure clear communication of the outcome of the meeting (risks, issues, actions, and decisions)
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Project Management/Sigma/Kaizen certification desirable
Five years’ project/transition management experience (or three years with advanced degree)
Experience in Finance and or Customer Care Transitions is preferred
GBS/SSC experience is a plus
Systems implementation is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Fluency in English (verbal and written)
Project management skills and capabilities (planning tools, defining deliverables, business case and baseline development)
Experience in successfully leading project deliverables and working on big projects
Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams
Capable of handling multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills across all levels of the organization
Proven track record of following through on commitments
Good planning, organizational, and time management skills
Team Player, able to work effectively with others
Ability to deal with highly sensitive information in line with confidentiality expectations
Good MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
