Public Buildings Service Supervisory Program Specialist in Tacoma, Washington

Summary As a Supervisory Program Specialist, you will serve as a Subject Matter expert for executing tenant services, custodial, grounds, and other building services programs. Location of position: GSA, Public Buildings Service, Northwest Arctic Region, in Tacoma, WA We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities Manages and provides oversight for a variety of regional PBS Building operations programs, to include tenant services, custodial and janitorial programs, and quality assurance. Serves as the lead or as a team member on biannual field office evaluations Management Analysis Review System (MARS). In the capacity of Lead and SME, is fully responsible for oversight and coordination of all phases of the inspection process, including contacts with congressional, judicial, and agency officials, as well as the district and building manager, assigning program areas to each team member, and reviewing and editing each team member's technical review, findings, and recommendations. Monitors the progress of the team members, as well as directing and assisting in the program area of tenant services, custodial and grounds, as well as other building management programs. Establishes responsible official and completion dates for field office corrective actions and tracks satisfactory completions. As a team member, is fully responsible for performing complete evaluation of tenant services and custodial and grounds within the evaluated field offices. Inspects work related trades. Prepares inspection reports for the purpose of identifying deficiencies and recommending problems involving lack of personnel, materials, poor workmanship, conditions in need of correction, and various other related concerns. Participates with PBS business line management in identifying and implementing resource priorities, policies, and long range plans. Works with other management personnel to formulate and finalize the business plan and budget submission. Assists other business line personnel in tracking of performance measures. Oversees the management and administration of PBS regional tenant services team. Performs the full range of supervisory and managerial duties, responsibilities, and authorities for staff managed. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience analyzing the effectiveness of facility operations and providing recommendations for improvements. This experience includes providing evaluation and monitoring of building operations and maintenance programs to ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards; understanding of the maintenance and/or repair of large building mechanical systems; and providing technical guidance and assistance in the accomplishment of program goals.
