SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Pediatric Clinic- in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider to work at our Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic. This position will offer the ideal candidate a chance to practice in a NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home providing clinical care to children from birth to 18 years as well as serving as a designated Preceptor to Nurse Practitioner students from Upstate’s College of Nursing.

Here’s what you’ll do as an autonomous provider working with a multidisciplinary team:

  • Be part of the direct care staff in performing all aspects of primary care in this cutting-edge Pediatric Clinic.

  • Use your clinical knowledge and interpersonal skills to precept students at the College of Nursing.

  • Hold a faculty appointment at Upstate Medical University College of Nursing.

  • Demonstrate your commitment to care for an underserved population as this requires a unique level of compassion for both patients and families including the ability to communicate with cultural awareness.

  • Improve quality while enhancing patient, employee and learner experience.

    Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required. Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant & current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice also required. Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.

CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pediatric experience preferred.

Work Days:

Monday through Friday, Days-No call or Weekends
