SUNY Upstate Medical University Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry 4B Inpatient in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary: Serves as a full-time Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to patients requiring Inpatient Psychiatric Services. Provides Psychiatric care to patients on the Inpatient Psychiatric Units. Inpatient responsibilities include providing expert level clinical care and coordination of care via a full range of services that will improve quality of patient care delivered. Observes and evaluates patients, orders appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies, arranges for referrals, testing, consultation, and therapeutic services and maintains outstanding relationships with families, referring physicians and all members of the health care team. Expected to see 6 patients per day.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with significant psychiatric experience (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice). Must have NPI number and be Medicare Enrolled with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN), DEA certification, medical malpractice insurance, (eligibility criteria for NP requires National Certification through AANP or ANCC, and Master's Degree). Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Pediatric Psychiatry preferred. Inpatient Psychiatric experience preferred.

Mon-Fri daytime hours
