SUNY Upstate Medical University Lead Programmer Analyst in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Lead Programmer Analyst will work closely with functional area end users to support the College's software applications through implementation, enhancement, integration, and reporting activities. Duties will include research and analysis, as well as support for and implementation of Banner-centric software solutions such as ARGOS and SLATE. Develop and modify technical documentation to support application maintenance and operations. Evaluate the requirements of users, and develop specifications to meet these requirements. Establish and manage college-wide Argos Reporting Team and work with user groups to effectively meet the reporting needs of the institution. In consultation with the Director of Student Data systems, data custodians, develop efficient data blocks to be used for reporting within departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of related experience required. Prior programming/report writing experience required. Object Oriented Programming concepts as evidenced by experience in Java or other OOP languages required. Knowledge/experience with SQL required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent customer service skills. Ability to keep pace with modern technology and maintain a proactive attitude. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming/analysis experience in SQL; PL/SQL.

Programming in a Linux/Unix environment.

Experience with PL/SQL Developer, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, or a comparable IDE.

Experience with Ellucian Banner, SLATE and ARGOS.

Experience with SUNY SICAS-supported applications.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday Days.
