Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with another Syracuse client of his that has a Controller hiring need. As a Controller, you will be entrusted with the management of the company's financial operations and will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy in reporting, creating strategies for financial performance optimization, and supporting business objectives. This organization has a great history of bonus payments and other solid benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the smooth operation of all accounting functions.

• Ensure the preparation and analysis of financial statements are carried out accurately and in compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.

• Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraudulent activities.

• Handle the management of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to provide strategic decision-making support.

• Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and key financial performance metrics.

• Ensure the organization complies with all tax laws, audits, and regulatory requirements.

• Liaise effectively with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions as required.

• Evaluate and enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to improve efficiency.

• Provide valuable financial insights and recommendations to the executive leadership team.

• Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting a culture of accountability and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting or equivalent

• CPA or MBA is an asset
