SUNY Upstate Medical University Clinical Nursing Education Coordinator in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

The Clinical Nursing Education Coordinator will be involved in the development, coordination, facilitation, and evaluation of educational activities through the centralized Clinical Nursing Education Team. They will function as an overall educational resource/contact. The Clinical Nursing Education Coordinator coordinates education activities, curriculum development, and design. The Clinical Nursing Education Coordinator will coordinate and evaluate hospital-wide educational activities and programs in collaboration with the Clinical Educators, nursing leadership, and clinical experts (i.e., unit managers/directors, clinical leaders, clinical training specialists, and senior nursing management) and PDL. This role will be an instructor and facilitator for appropriate orientation and ongoing programs and classes. They will document class participation. This role creates and maintains the annual education calendar and plans and, collects and reports data to improve course offerings. This role will teach classes that do not require a RN license.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree and 5 years of experience in teaching required. Experience and advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint required. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal and organizational skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the healthcare setting. Master's degree in education. Experience in computer programs that enhance the instructional design of course materials preferred.

Work Days:

M-F 7:00-3:30 with flexible hours dependent on unit need
