Syracuse University Assistant Teaching Professor - Counselor Education in Syracuse, New York

The Counseling and Human Services (CHS) programs and the School of Education at Syracuse University invite applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of assistant teaching professor, beginning August 19, 2024. This position is eligible for promotion and offers a 3-year renewable contract based on performance and unit need. The primary duties of this position include teaching master’s level courses for the School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs, academic advising and supervision, and assuming key leadership/service roles including but not limited to serving as field experience director. We seek an individual with a strong ability or potential to teach, provide clinical supervision, mentoring, and advising students, and to foster collaboration and community among CHS faculty and students.

About the School of Education and Counseling and Human Services programs

The School of Education has a sustained legacy for leadership in the U.S., and international communities in inclusive and equitable education. It is dedicated to preparing thoughtful and socially just undergraduate and graduate leaders in their respective fields. Currently, it centers three distinctive signatures to organize and inform faculty scholarship, teaching/advising, organizational structures, policies and practices, and resource allocation. These signatures include: inclusive and antiracist pedagogies and practice; the integration of digital learning technologies to increase access, engagement, and student learning; and the use of innovative, rich experiential learning opportunities.
