Description:

St. Joseph’s College of (SJCON) offers a single purpose, hospital-based, Associate in Applied Science Degree with a major in Nursing. SJCON offers several program options: 1) the traditional weekday format that follows an academic calendar over a two-year timeframe, 2) the Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (DDPN) option, the Evening/Weekend (E/WE) option, in which students attend on alternating weekends and one evening per week for 18 months; and 4) the accelerated evening/weekend (ADDPN) option that is offered in the same 18-month timeframe to allow students with a BA or BS degree in another field to pursue both an Associate and Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Both options offer a dual degree pathway established through a partnership with Le Moyne College (LMC).

The college has been designated as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence ( 1 of only 57 nationally) and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing (ACEN), and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).

POSITION SUMMARY: The Admissions Coordinator has direct responsibilities for the recruitment of students for all programs and courses of study within the College of Nursing. Additionally, the Admissions Coordinator is responsible for ensuring newly accepted and enrolled students are ready to begin classes on the first day of the term. The individual must complete all tasks and provide leadership and administrative oversight for the admissions, enrollment, and orientation of prospective students. Under the supervision of the Dean of the College or their designee and consistent with strategic plans, the Admissions Coordinator will oversee all aspects of recruitment, enrollment, and orientation activities from initial inquires to the first day of class. The Admissions Coordinator is also expected to participate in shared governance activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Admissions Coordinator is expected to maintain open communication with Administration, colleagues, staff, potential students, and students to ensure enrollment targets are met and newly enrolled students are prepared to begin classes. The Admissions Coordinator will be required to perform the essential functions as listed in the job description.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in college recruitment and admissions with experience in enrollment and orientation highly desirable. Preference for experience recruiting students for a health care field and persons under-represented in the health professions (especially nursing). Experience in marketing or public relations a plus. Licensure/Certification not required

Must have a valid New York driver's license and good driving record

Ability to travel throughout state of New York

Ability to work some evenings and weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS: Clinical, classroom and office settings. Hazards include exposure to communicable diseases and risk of physical injury. Exposure Class I.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderate physical activity. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift and move recruiting material from office to car to venue. Manual dexterity sufficient to manipulate equipment including computers. Visual/auditory acuity adequate to perform to interact with potential students, parents, academic advisors, guidance counselors, and others.

Pay Range: $31.00- $43.50

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
