Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant role in Nursing Business Operations is responsible for coordinating, overseeing and performing a wide variety of administrative and program support activities for the Department of Nursing. This individual will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Nursing Business Operations department and travel nurse coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and activities. Assists the travel nurse coordinator with on-boarding and maintenance of temporary agency staff. This position will function as a liaison between Employee Health, Payroll, OTD, and travel agency vendors to ensure a seamless hiring process. Maintains efficient and effective work flow; resolves day-to-day operational issues; responds to phone calls; opens, sorts, distributes, and follows up on routine mail correspondence; keyboards a variety of text and documents, organizes, manages, expedites and follows up on projects. Will assist with managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and may attend meetings, as needed. Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date position control system for nursing areas to include accurate line numbers, unit staffing plans, hires, transfers and separations. Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee profiles and access with the Kronos system. Performs data collection, compiles data and maintains reports/excel spreadsheets/databases for reporting staffing data. Utilizes online employment system to ensure that Nursing positions are posted in a prompt and accurate manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in related field and a minimum of three years administrative experience (preferably in a health care environment) or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and computer skills required.
