About the Role

Position Overview

We are seeking a Valuations & Reference Data Analyst to be part of the APAC InvesTech Group. The Analyst will fill a strong hands-on role responsible for the security pricing and security reference data functions within the APAC region. This role covers a wide range of security asset classes including to fixed income securities, exchange-traded equities, derivatives, as well as currencies. The candidate will perform daily pricing and reference data quality controls, drive process improvements, collaborate with internal teams and market data vendors. The role requires an individual who can work well independently, is a problem solver, has a strong sense of teamwork, and is knowledgeable of departmental and company responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

  • Execute daily validation procedures, ensuring the integrity, accuracy and consistency of pricing data across multiple platforms.

  • Assist in the creation of securities, as requested by Investors and Trading.

  • Timely, accurate, and thorough support of complex and routine inquiries initiated by portfolio management, trading, performance, and fund admin teams;

  • Identify key reference data and client permissibility language in official source documentation (offering documents/Prospectus).

  • Build a strong understanding of data flows and systems utilization of security master file data.

  • Interact with third-party vendors and brokers to resolve pricing-related and reference data issues.

  • Work closely with colleagues in the UK and Boston to field queries and handoff work across regions to provide uninterrupted global coverage including some project work as required by the function.

  • Assist manager, team and department in the development of improvement ideas to create utilities needed to validate and research data issues, increase productivity, and enhance client satisfaction.

  • Work closely with Portfolio Data management team, Portfolio Management, Investment Compliance, Trading, and Legal to understand new security purchases and validate client permissibility and regulatory restrictions.

  • Assist in developing data management tools that will help the team proactively identify trends within the valuation space, share that content throughout the firm, and enhance the oversight of our pricing vendors.

  • Identify system or workflow inefficiencies and create strategic solutions to better business processes.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this position is likely to:

  • The candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s degree with relevant financial services industry experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in communicating with Trading/Front Office and Client Service teams.

  • Exhibits a proactive nature and approach to learning, problem identification and problem resolution.

  • Thoroughness, attention to detail and the ability to think and work independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.

  • Experience with SQL, VBA, Tableau, Bloomberg or other tools for analyzing data a plus.

  • Demonstrate ability to apply business and industry knowledge to participate in strategic initiatives.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Desire to succeed and the ability to self-motivate and motivate others, with a strong work ethic and professionalism.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, with a high intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement.
