Amazon Senior Program Manager - Selection Conversion in Sydney, Australia

Amazon’s Retail team, located in Sydney, is looking for a data-driven Senior Program Manager to develop and lead programs that drive improved efficiency of new and existing products. You will be responsible for owning multiple workstreams that improve the discoverability, availability, and customer facing information of products across the store. To deliver this, you will own and develop a roadmap and be required to flex between owning the direct execution of initiatives and driving delivery through a variety of local and global cross-functional stakeholders.

As the Senior Program Manager for Conversion, you will lead the development of programmatic solutions that improve the conversion of Retail selection through a data first approach. You will be highly proficient in data analysis, with the ability to apply statistical analysis techniques where relevant, to identify root causes and produce insights of the highest value actions that the business can take to improve selection conversion and efficiency. The successful candidate will be able to develop and own a roadmap of initiatives to drive these improvements and be able to clearly communicate this vision to generate buy-in on the initiatives to enable delivery. They will be able to effortlessly move between strategic and tactical work and be able to drive delivery of initiatives across a distributed stakeholder set. The successful candidate will be eager to learn and move quickly while being comfortable working autonomously as the owner of their workstreams in often ambiguous situations.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the analysis and insight generation for your workstreams through use of SQL, or other relevant data analysis, for reporting and application of relevant data techniques (statistical models, ML, etc)

• Develop and own the delivery of a multi-year selection conversion strategy roadmap. Continually iterate on this with new initiatives and insights each year.

• Work with partner technical teams to review and recommend iterations to existing ML and forecasting models

• Achieve business and program objectives to drive improvements within the efficiency of Amazon’s Retail selection

• Own the reporting and updates of workstream performance and implement short to medium term actions to bridge performance when required

• Own the development, launch, and continual improvement of selection conversion deep dive tools for your Retail stakeholder base

• Use strong interpersonal and program management skills to influence local and global tech and non-tech teams and hold stakeholders to high delivery standards

• Own the launch and post-launch processes for new products that deliver scalable and/or automated solutions to program priorities

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience

  • Experience using data to influence business decisions

  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding business and/or financial KPIs

  • Experience with large data sets and insight generation using Excel, SQL, or other data analysis tools

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience owning launch and post launch product processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Redshift

  • Experience in statistical analysis using R and/or Python to perform cluster analysis and/or next best action identification

  • Knowledge of SQL at an advanced level
