The purpose of the role

To help our customers achieve this mission, we are excited to announce a role within our Modern Work Specialist Sales Team.

The Modern Work Specialist is a creative, accomplished, and experienced solutions sales person with a proven track record of excellence in Solutions Sales for a SaaS-based company or similar technologies. They are obsessed with understanding our customer’s requirements, creative at imagining solutions to address the needs and articulate in their ability to communicate these solutions. They customers in their mission to make the world a better place and — alongside the whole Microsoft team — are ultimately shaping the future of technology.

Responsibilities

  • Thrive in an ever-changing environment, adapting quickly to new solutions and embracing change with a growth mindset.

  • Drive complex deals and influence new opportunities by engaging with key decision makers, understanding customer priorities, and articulating the value proposition of Modern Work solutions, including Copilot.

  • Drive solution sales best practices, crafting strategies that differentiate and challenge customers with creative solutions.

  • Accelerate opportunities with creative strategies and storytelling that address customer challenges, leveraging core team stakeholders and Partners.

  • Lead the planning and execution of Modern Work opportunities, collaborating with internal stakeholders and partners for cross-selling and up-selling.

  • Lead conversations with business, C-Suite and IT decision makers, sharing best practices and competitor knowledge as a subject matter expert.

  • Deliver excellence in territory planning, business analysis and forecasting.

  • Deliver results while embodying Microsoft values, treating others with fairness and respect.

  • Support team members in exceeding their potential, actively contributing to the team culture, fostering positivity, and sharing knowledge.

Qualifications

What skills do you need to have?

There will be many opportunities for you to learn and grow into this role and Microsoft. However, to be able to best deliver on the purpose of this role, these are the core skills and experiences you should have on day one:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 4+ years technology-related sales or account management experience OR 5+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.

  • Sales Execution: Skilled in leading BDM and ITDM conversations with high-potential customers, building pipeline and developing and presenting solutions that meet customer requirements & strategy, and leading deal execution.

  • Business Value Selling.

  • Scaling and Collaboration

  • Technical Expertise: Skilled in understanding Modern Work solutions and products, or competitive equivalent

  • Sales Excellence: Skilled in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on business planning, leading forecast, account and territory plan discussions to drive intentional selling in high propensity accounts
