Description
We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our AWS, AIGC, Devices & Services and Global Amazon Entertainment Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China (APJC) Talent Acquisition (TA) team as a Business Analyst. The individual will report to the International TA Senior Manager Recruitment Ops, Recruiting based in Sydney. The goal of the Business Analyst is to serve the talent acquisition needs of the organization by delivering critical analysis, reporting solutions, self-service analytics, and visualization solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and leaders to understand business goals and priorities, in order to effectively and accurately strategize, plan and execute initiatives as it relates to the business plan.
We are looking for a self-starter who can spot and seed opportunity areas before handing over to others for scaling. Given the evolving space, the ideal candidate will be open to experimentation, comfortable with ambiguity and able to resolve it using first principle thinking. The candidate will be able to help with problem breakdowns and guide SME’s and BAs. Familiarity with or past experience with HR and/or TA analytics will be a plus. Strong understanding of acquiring and transforming data to drive analysis, ability to use proxies and make reasonable assumptions, triangulate data to create business plans are a must-have. The role will require balancing the ability to think big and be creative while paying attention to detail and data.
This is a 12 Month FTC role.
Key job responsibilities
• Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and engineering teams to define and acquire data necessary to support reporting requirements
• Build the portfolio for one-time & on-going Insights programs intended to inform planning and operations recommendations across the region
• Own/direct execution of end-to-end analysis including scoping, design, data collection, analysis, creation of recommendations and presentation of results to senior leadership
• Anticipate bottlenecks, escalate appropriately, make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus various constraints for the team
• Put repeatable processes in place that help us aggregate inputs, plan, and manage multiple parallel ad-hoc requests & long-term insights projects and continuously seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process by influencing roadmaps of partner teams
• Support and develop the roadmap for business intelligence
• Adopt and implement best practices in reporting and analysis including data integrity, analysis, and documentation

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience with SQL
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
Experience in data extraction and manipulation with large, complex data sets and working knowledge of quantitative, behavioural analysis and statistics
Experience with managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders with varying analytics and data experience levels
Highly organized, ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance and tight deadlines
Prior experience working in HR/Recruiting
Advanced knowledge of SQL
