Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM)

The CLCM is integrated into the System Program Office (SPO) and contracted to deliver through-life asset management of Products being supported (PBS). The CLCM performs asset, sustainment and engineering functions to optimise availability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and minimise risk through life of the PBS. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with Regional Maintenance Centre’s (RMC) to plan maintenance activities and installation of capability upgrades. The CLCM works collaboratively via the SPO with the Design Services Contract (DSC) to plan and execute engineering changes and services. The CLCM delivers functions against the contract scope across the Asset Class Enterprise to support Defence Maritime Capability.

The Opportunity:

The Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Manager will be responsible for the identification, development, and inclusion of AIC opportunities within the CLCM contract to maximise sovereign capabilities.

The AIC Manager will be responsible for sovereign suppliers, market testing, developing collaborative business models, and negotiating with Australian companies to participate in CLCM Services across the ACS Enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to the Principal Asset Manager for provision of AIC Services within the CLCM Contract and the AIC Plan.

  • Responsible for facilitating AIC Stewardship across the ACS Enterprise including Supply Chain.

  • Conduct of AIC Risk Management across the ACS Enterprise.

  • Responsible for liaison with Australian Industry bodies to seek compatible capabilities for the program and actively seeks to reduce barriers to entry.

  • Responsible for facilitating local Industry engagement activities and the provision of status reports as required on AIC opportunities and their actual and projected economic benefits.

  • Responsible for promoting local capability into the Global Supply Chain.

  • Responsible to the Principal Asset Manager for driving Continuous Improvement and Performance Analysis across the ACS Enterprise.

  • Demonstrates understanding of the ISO 44001 standard.

  • Other duties as directed.

As the ideal candidate you will bring:

Essential:

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in:

  • Australian Industry Capability;

  • Commercial / Business Development;

  • Procurement / Supply Chain Management;

  • Technical Engineering.

  • Degree qualified in Engineering and /or Business, or with equivalent AIC Management experience.

  • A solid understanding of Maritime engineering, ILS, supply support, maintenance support with a minimum of 8 years of related experience.

  • In depth knowledge of the Australian Defence industry.

  • Risk Management.

  • Commercial negotiation skills.

All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Defence Security Clearance. Only candidates holding a NV1 Clearance or above should apply.
