Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Global Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development for the Aerospace, Defense & Marine business unit, the Sr. Manager Strategic Sourcing EMEA will be the regional leader for EMEA and lead a team of strategic sourcing managers and analysts. The role requires ability to collaborate to develop strategy and drive execution across all commodities, categories, and suppliers in the region. This position will be responsible for developing the regional team and supply base. The ideal candidate will have desire and drive for upward mobility and exhibit the required values, performance, and behaviors to enable such.

  • Develops regional and global sourcing strategies for AD&M EMEA, considering the business needs as well as optimizing the supply chain and minimizing total cost of acquisition

  • Establish a regional team and cooperate with global colleagues to identify, qualify, quote, negotiate and contract with suppliers.

  • Responsible for creating regional commodity strategies, communication and adherence • Accountable for achieving annual goals for assigned KPIs including cost, quality, delivery on a regional spend of $170M+ Accountable for leading idea generation and execution of ideas across all AD&M regions to ensure a sustainable pipeline of material productivity initiatives for the business unit.

  • Capture the needs of the BU and fulfill the expectations in commodity related KPIs and service level as internal customers.

  • Ensure suppliers are compliant to global and regional regulatory or legal requirements (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, etc.).

  • Conduct annual business reviews with select, high-critical set of key suppliers.

  • Be the escalation point for all supply base issues or opportunities.

  • Participate and contribute in the key Global Procurement Council initiatives.

  • Drive improvements in the EMEA supply base in collaboration with BU functions, Procurement, Quality, Supplier Development, etc.

  • Manage relations with all key or new suppliers including quarterly business reviews and new supplier development plans.

  • Support and Develop a 3-5 year regional commodity plan for the region – strategy, in accordance with the Global, Regional and Local needs and in alignment with the corporate commodity strategy.

What your background should look like:

At least 10+ years of relatable Procurement/Sourcing, Supply Chain or Logistics experience, with at least 5 years of leading related teams in a global structure.

  • Must have Procurement analytical skills in: LPP analysis, Should Cost/Clean Sheet analysis, Currency and Material analysis, Market analysis, Part Cost Breakdown analysis, RFQ analysis, etc.

  • Experience in commodity/material market tracking and analysis

  • Experience in contract negotiation, contract review, and contract management.

  • Self-starter with Project Management experience and ability to drive action items and results • Possess strong and sound continuous improvement disciplines and convictions; Proven success in these areas is a must.

  • Proven track record that demonstrates ability to achieve desired results. • Strong people & organizational leadership skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills towards staff, peers, suppliers, internal customers and leadership

  • Ability to prioritize manage complexity in a fast-paced environment

  • Very Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, must be a critical thinker

  • University degree in business related field, engineering or equivalent.

  • Bachelors degree in business is preferred.

  • Strong IT Skills: SAP, advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, Word
