Job Description

Background:

We are taking our regional autonomy to the next level and plan to expand this engineering organisation with full time positions.

Role Summary:

This role reports to the Regional Engineering Leader PT – APAC Services.

This is an individual contributor role, but will require close coordination within the team, Tendering organisation and also Supplying units’ Engineering teams. The main internal customer will be Tendering and Sales, who will expect technical solutions. The role must also support Execution team, Field Services and Sourcing for localisation initiatives.

Roles and Responsibility

Reports to Regional Engineering Leader PT-APAC Services

Internal customers: Tendering, Sales, Project execution.

Consultant to: ITO, OTR, FS and Sourcing.

Responsible for quality and completeness of output within committed timeframe.

Follow queue system for requests and use prioritisation algorithms as defined by Engineering Leader as per business priorities.

Work extensively on Business Information systems (e.g. Salesforce) for work updates.

Liaise closely with Quality, R&D, Field Service leader to provide a complete technical solution for customer.

Deliver as per KPIs defined.

Provide extension / retrofit solutions, including tendering stage drawings after collecting inputs from customer’s RFQ and if necessary, following site visit.

In addition to the above, the candidate will be required to attend customer meetings for technical clarifications and explanations for important and critical tenders.

Required Qualifications, experience, and skills

Engineering graduate or high school diploma preferred, with 5 years or more experience.

Experience will be preferred in Grid products – preferably in Engineering, Quality, Field Service or R&D.

This role is expected to have specialisation in AIS/ GIS products hence must be conversant with important models in the Grid portfolio pertaining to AIS/ GIS, including important legacy models.

Knowledge of various engineering database systems like Brain, AC1 configurator, Larsen, etc. and tools such as CAD, Creo will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of SAP to work with Engineering BOM, Material master, stock checking.

Knowledge of Salesforce, Outlook, MS office.

Prior work experience on Grid High Voltage switchgear in a technical role is mandatory.

Desired Characteristics

Networking with internal teams, including cross-continent and cross-discipline.

Technically competent in current field of work and expected to be a quick learner. Please note that only candidates with advanced knowledge of reading drawings, understanding basic BOM structure, HV and LV drawing philosophies, knowledge of relevant IECs pertaining to switchgear is necessary: no training is expected to be imparted on the job on these topics. However, training on database systems, various BOM structures at advanced level will be provided as required for the job.

Good presentation and articulation skills.

Interact with culturally diverse team

Willing to travel.

Work on semi-remote basis, focussed on deliverables, manage workload and engagement across time-zones.

Must not require continuous supervision for work output and should be able to work autonomously within guidelines provided.
