The Shipping Supervisor will take ownership of all aspects of shipping and receiving function for an HDPE extruded products factory. This includes safety, quality, production, and continuous improvement activities. The candidate must have a hands-on technical background in a high volume manufacturing environment with shipping and distribution experience. ISO 9000 and Automotive supplier experience preferred.

  • Manage and a team of employees in the shipping and receiving function

  • Managing a logistic yard with up to 150 trailers, yard mule and tractor

  • Managing multiple warehouses including and off-site ware house

  • Providing customer service and logistic support.

  • Managing inventory and movement of trailers and materials

  • Managing inventory accuracy and daily cycle counting including silos.

  • Conducting bi-monthly inventory and reconciliation of any variances

  • Manage direct and indirect reports including performance

  • Provide training, coaching and performance management counseling

  • Lead and drive Safety culture and improvements to achiever a zero-accident environment

  • Follow customer orders and provided 100% complete on time delivery

  • Ensures safety, quality, shipping, receiving and inventory accuracy performance targets are met

  • Improve current systems and procedures and lead continuous improvement project activities

  • Lead improvement initiatives to increase through put, improve inventory accuracy and to reduce waste

  • Knowledge and use of quality methodology including statistical methods, lean manufacturing, 6-sigma and problem-solving techniques

  • Maintain process controls, standardized work, and process documentation

  • Preparing technical and management system reports

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering discipline preferred

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years’ shipping and logistics management experience

  • Record of demonstrated successes and management of Safety programs with Zero Accidents

  • Record of demonstrated success in meeting Customer Quality requirements

  • JDE experience 1 to 3 years in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred, Alternative SAP and/or Oracle experience.

  • Strong organization and project management skills

  • Attention to detail and meeting deadlines

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply inventory control and continuous improvement tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet safety, quality and production requirements

Preferred:

  • Automotive supplier experience preferred

  • Lean and or Six Sigma certification preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred
