Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Description
This position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials and equipment from suppliers for all brands. The role involves managing production meetings, resolving quality issues, handling engineering changes, and managing sales requests. The successful candidate will also be responsible for daily, weekly, and quarterly tasks.
Responsibilities
Negotiate material components based on quality, cost, service, and delivery standards.
Seek cost-efficient products and build mutually beneficial relationships with new suppliers.
Generate procurement reports using MRP-II and other software to forecast needs and determine delivery dates.
Create and review material requisitions and purchase orders to support plant operations and meet inventory goals.
Coordinate programs to meet inventory objectives and ensure build schedules are met.
Arrange transportation and expedite shipping of critical materials within budget.
Provide volume forecasts to suppliers to ensure future supply needs and negotiate discounts.
Address defective or damaged materials and communicate with relevant personnel to control conditions.
Collaborate with management, plant personnel, and suppliers to improve material quality and reduce costs.
Improve inter-departmental processes within established guidelines and approved supplier lists.
Prevent problems, document quality issues, contribute to solutions, and protect the environment.
Essential Skills
• At least 1+ years of experience in materials management, procurement, or related supply chain fields (review material orders, purchase orders, transportation of purchases, negotiate with suppliers.)
• Analytical skills to maneuver through all Microsoft (specifically Excel)
• Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs if preferred)
• Great attitude and willingness to learn
• ERP or MRP Experience (Med to large size ex. Oracle, SAP)
• Applying Continuous Improvement tools and concepts
• Experience with blueprint (quoting, measurements)
• Familiar with steel, aluminum or commodity knowledge
Additional Skills & Qualifications
APICS CPIM or CSCP accreditation.
Negotiation experience.
Experience in commodity pricing, sourcing, casting, or hydraulics.
Knowledge of fasteners.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree.
Work Environment
The position is 100% in-office, working Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The role is based in Surrey and involves working closely with a team of three purchasing and planning staff.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $78000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Surrey,BC.
