As Business Development Manager, you’ll develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for the hotel, create and implement tactical plans and ensure revenue goals are achieved. You'll also regularly sell hotel rooms, meeting rooms, and food and beverage to client contacts. This is a full-time position amidst an incredibly diverse, agile and experienced Commercial team at voco Gold Coast.

Your day to day

As Business Development Manager, you will drive proactive sales to maximise domestic segment performance, drive RGI, profitability and return on investment managing your sales activities and total revenue generation.

You will form strategic external alliances and partners to support the Hotel’s positioning and actively promote the Hotel and brand through community and professional involvement.

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales and Marketing, this role helps to drive total hotel revenues year-round from key market segments

You will create a positive and productive work environment, build, motivate, and support an effective team that delivers results and is highly engaged.

You will travel to key domestic feeder markets to build relationships with existing and new clients.

What we need from you

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably within a hotel environment

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a senior sales capacity within Australasia with a proven track record of success

Skills:

• Strong presentation, commercial and communication skills

• Ability to manage a diverse group of stakeholders

• Ability to work across multiple diversified business units or multiple projects

• Leader who creates a culture of execution, accountability and outperformance

• Proactive approach to developing and maintaining strong relations with stakeholders

• Understands industry dynamics, trends, and disciplines

• Forecast and plan for likely deficits and down months a year in advance.

• Keeps abreast of changes and assesses trends in consumer buying behaviour to create strategies that drive business opportunities

• Strategic and tactical thinker - ability to develop strategic Sales plans, establish goals and objectives, set performance targets and deliver projects on time

• Ability to analyse, identify key issues, interpret and extract trends from base information

• In-depth knowledge of Sales principles and techniques

• Comprehension of Hotel systems and revenue management principle
