JOB REQUIREMENTS: Duties and Responsibilties of Job: Worker Type: Employee Group: Engineering and Projects Department Job Post End Date: 05/30/2024 About this opportunity: The Sr. Project engineer will lead project management and engineering activities including technical aspects of scope development, risk assessment, process hazard analysis, design basis, cost estimate & schedule, utilizing SRC specifications, conducting drawing reviews, regulatory approvals, and constructability reviews. Facilitate procurement and fabrication activities including reviewing scope of work, bid lists, request for quotation, technical and commercial evaluations, and purchase requisitions. Ensure contracted services adherence to cost estimates, schedule estimates and quality expectations utilizing change management processes. Mentor summer or Co-op students, plan work fit for knowledge base and promote learning. Review progress and provide meaningful feedback. What you\'ll do: * Write scopes of work and request for proposal for engineering services and contribute to the biding process. * Host project meetings for engineering and design efforts through a Stage Gate process. * Provide executive level report on project status, support provided and major discipline activities on periodic basis. * Conduct field reviews for project/equipment scoping, design, construction support and verification, punch-outs, checklists and general operations and maintenance support and troubleshooting. * Organize commissioning, turn over, pre-start-up safety reviews, document hand over and project close out activities. Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering recognized by ABET. * 8 to 12 years of combined experience in Engineering Design and Project Management. * Knowledge of industry codes and standards relevant to discipline (ASME, API, CEC, ISA, NFPA). * Project Management Essentials - SAIT PROJ 020 or equivalent PMBOK Guide training. * Inherently Safer Design Certified Training - SAChE or equivalent. * Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills. * Strong excel and word processing skills. Preferred: * Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. * Electrical Engineering experience and experience managing electrical projects.
