We are looking for a talented, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer, who is passionate about quality and is enthusiastic about new digital products. The person chosen for this position will have the opportunity to contribute their creative ideas and energy to our group. Duties include research, design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of FireOS framework/middleware software and to drive the software development process towards higher quality.

The Role: Using a combination of open source and proprietary technologies, we build cutting-edge devices for media consumption, whether or in the home. As a strong customer advocate, you will help own media technologies and quality end to end (E2E). You will work with internal and external partners to deliver the best in class devices, and will research new technologies, develop new and help define processes to build the media of next generation devices.

Software design and development of FireOS(Android) framework modules for customer-facing features and functionalities on FireTV devices

Architecture, Design, Coding of middleware framework modules on cross-platform systems. Mentoring of Junior engineers is an essential part of the role as well. Successful candidate will be a problem solver open to ideas and sharing his knowledge with the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
