Key job responsibilities

As a Commodity Manager, you will:

  • Develop a commodity technology roadmap aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities

  • Be responsible for ASIC managing RFQ, supplier selection, qualification and price negotiation

  • Manage all aspects of new supplier bring-up including database management in Agile or other ERP systems

  • Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology

  • Collaborate with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet expectations, technical capabilities, and business objectives

  • Drive ASIC IP & supply chain partners to meet overall schedule and commercials

  • Drive supply and IP agreements with the understanding of key contracting provisions/requirements

  • Interface with Planning and Program Management to assess current and future sourcing requirements

  • Help drive quarterly executive business reviews of strategic sourcing plan that defines, among other things, market and business analysis, product roadmaps, supplier capabilities and annual / quarterly strategic business objectives

  • Maintain expertise/knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements and competitive landscape

  • Support our OEM supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, VMI/JIT, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms, etc.

  • Travel periodically to supplier’s sites

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • 5+ years of professional or military experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
