The Entertainment Devices (Fire TV and Alexa) Display Advertising team builds digital Ad solutions across Smart TVs and Alexa to help our customers discover and engage with content and help Amazon lower prices. We operate at Amazon scale, designing and deploying software that is enjoyed by millions of active users globally. We solve significant customer problems in the consumer electronics space through devices, mobile applications, computer vision, and machine learning.

We are looking for an innovative Principal Product Manager - Tech to lead exciting new Ad products that scale across Amazon devices such as Amazon Echo, Fire TV, and Fire Tablet. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing and operating new display advertising products from the ground up and launch features for both Amazon Advertisers and devices customers globally. You will define the strategy and vision for the products, and develop and look after product roadmaps and features based on team strategy and vision. You are an entrepreneurial, innovative individual who thrives on solving hard problems, and embraces ambiguity to bring first-to-market consumer and advertising experiences. You are able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and applications that customers love. This role is inherently cross-functional — you will work closely with engineering, design, business development, marketing and executive teams to bring features to market and develop and grow business opportunities for Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define creative, high quality, simple product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision

  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application

  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

  • Gather and analyze voice-of-customer and voice-of-advertiser data

  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, advertiser experience, performance and operational support load

  • Work closely with engineering teams and design team to deliver products to market

  • Drive product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.

A day in the life

In this role you will collaborate with the team to develop the product vision for a brand-new set of advertising experiences on Amazon Devices that delight and engage end-users with their favorite brands. You seek to understand customer impact, business value and celebrate delivering innovative experiences to customers & advertisers. You're regularly connecting with other teams to break down silos, and seeking opportunities to implement tools and mechanisms that keep teams connected, engaged and delivering results through documentation and support. You seek to understand status, blockers and use or invent mechanisms to provide transparency across stakeholders.

About the team

We build Ad products and experiences for the growing Personal Assistant, Connected TV, and Streaming TV market segments, driving a generational realignment away from legacy consumption and distribution models, enabling us to create new, valuable opportunities for Amazon with Fire TV and Alexa.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience technical product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • Prior experience in Ad-Tech including experience in launching mobile/web/TV programmatic digital Display Ad products, with strong understanding of Media Advertiser objectives, Ad delivery pipelines, Supply and Demand tech systems, and Ad Metrics infrastructure.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions

  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
