Google Hardware Design Engineer, Board and Systems, Platforms in Sunnyvale, California
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience working in enterprise hardware systems design, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Experience in electronics principles, circuit design, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and layout.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
3 years of experience with enterprise class hardware systems design. Experience with data center engineering, server, storage and networking products.
Experience solving complex system issues, technical innovation and drive technical roadmap.
Experience collecting and organizing details to reproduce results.
Experience with FPGA/CPLD Design and interface with other disciplines, including software, signal integrity, thermal and mechanical.
Our Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team designs and builds the hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services. Our computational tests are complex and unique, enabled by cutting-edge custom hardware designed and made in-house. As a Hardware Engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's biggest computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concept all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Develop hardware designs for systems or sub-systems of data center hardware products.
Bring up systems and execute engineering validation in the lab.
Gather requirements, define high level architecture, execute hardware design and product validation.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to productize designs and field support.
Drive products from concept to production.
