Primary Function
Seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for live event production. An experienced Live Show Director and Show Caller can lead a team and show flow to ensure flawless execution of high-profile live events. In this pivotal role, the Director is seamlessly integrating technical and creative elements to deliver captivating productions. The Director is a problem-solver, thrives under pressure, and a master of collaboration, working closely with producers, technical teams, and key stakeholders to create unforgettable live experiences.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
Range: $62/hr. - $65/hr.
Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all aspects of live event execution, ensuring that both technical and creative elements are integrated for a seamless viewer/attendee experience
Serve as the primary connection between producers, technical teams, and stakeholders during live events, ensuring clear communication and direction
Collaborate with producers to assess event requirements, allocate technical resources, and develop comprehensive show plans, including technical specs, schedules, and workflows
Partner with technical teams to ensure all equipment is optimized, properly set up, and ready for action. Keep everything running smoothly with precise coordination.
Conduct technical rehearsals and create detailed checklists for setup, ensuring everything is prepped, tested, and secured
Direct live productions and events, providing real-time direction to technical teams and operators. Swiftly address any challenges that arise and keep the show on track.
Work closely with engineering, streaming, and live operations teams to tackle and resolve technical issues with innovative, quick-thinking solutions
Keep producers and key stakeholders informed of any operational hurdles, your proposed solutions, and progress to ensure smooth communication throughout the event
Ensure that all operational teams have the latest content from producers, partners, or post-production, so nothing is left to chance
Ensures high-quality, flawless execution in every aspect of technical production
Participate in pre-production show planning and debrief reporting
Assist with team training, documentation

Skills & Qualifications
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams through high-pressure, fast-paced environments
Ability to make quick, effective decisions
High level of digital technical aptitude
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously while maintaining an eye for detail
Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide quick, effective solutions
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Strong proficiency in all aspects of video and audio production, including impacts of live streaming, camera operation, lighting, sound design, post production, and IT requirements
Candidate must have a commitment to excellence, being open to constructive feedback and able to implement changes
Education & Experience
6+ years of experience in live and streaming event production direction, or live broadcast television
A demonstrated portfolio of high-quality, large-scale production and event work
Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Broadcast Engineering, Film, or a related field is preferred. Technical school training with equivalent experience also considered.
