County of Northumberland Human Resources Generalists in Sunbury, Pennsylvania

*Position Summary: *

The Human Resources Generalist is to perform HR- related duties on a professional level and works closely in assisting the HR Director to ensure compliance and administering personnel policies and procedures, and will help with important functions such as staffing, training and development, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and compensation. Will execute County payroll processing, prepare documentation for any necessary pay, tax, or benefit adjustments, calculate payments for termed employees, and retroactive pay adjustments each pay period.  Will also provide support to the Human Services department.

Requirements

  *What You'll Do: *

  •  Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, and interviewing candidates
  •  Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  •  Assist with employee relations issues and provide guidance to managers and employees
  •  Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  •  Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  •  Conduct training sessions for employees on various HR-related topics
  •  Assist with performance management and employee development programs
  •  Bi- weekly payroll that includes, but not limited to, preparing documentation for tax or benefit adjustments, payment for   termed employees, retroactive pay adjustments
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed

Job Requirements/Skills & Abilities:

  •  BA in Human Resources, or BA in General Studies
  •  2 + years of experience in HR operations or related field
  •  Knowledge of HR policies and procedures
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office and Human Resource Platforms
