PLC Maintenance Technician $37+/HR!! In Sumter South Carolina

Job Description

You will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on equipment used in the production process. You will work directly with the Engineering team to improve processes for output and waste levels, providing leadership and ownership of process performance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all electrical systems used on production equipment.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on designated production equipment as specified in the PM Program to ensure smooth operation.

  • Assist Engineering with installation, debugging, and start-up of equipment, and maintain and adjust vision systems within defined parameters.

  • Maintain equipment logs, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems.

  • Document all process changes using approved control change procedures.

  • Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are maintained.

  • Provide Production Supervisors with relevant information on equipment and process performance, including production and waste information.

  • Provide leadership to other associates in problem-solving of production equipment.

  • Coordinate and support other maintenance activities as needed.

Essential Skills

  • PLC experience

  • Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot systems using them

  • Multimeter troubleshooting to identify voltage issues

  • Mechanical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, ladder logic, and repairing electrical systems

  • Experience with preventive maintenance

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electrical experience with 24V up to 480V

  • Understanding of AB PLCs, VFDs, and relays

  • Ability to get online and change programs if needed

  • Understanding of ladder logic and ability to watch a program to identify issues

  • Experience with changing panel views and downloading programs

  • Mechanical experience with hydraulics, vacuum pumps, roller and materials conveyors, replacing gearboxes, conveyors, rebuilding conveyors, and SERVO motor replacement

  • Knowledge of CAM systems

  • Robotics experience is helpful but not necessary

  • Mechanical aptitude with an electronic focus

Work Environment

You will work 8pm-8am on a 3, 2, 2, 3 schedule. Training will be provided from 8am-4pm (M-F) for about 8-10 weeks before transitioning to the 8pm-8am shift. The plant operates 24/7 with approximately 900 employees. This is a direct hire position in the Wingsets department, where you will be involved in assembling devices for blood collection. No options for first shift are available, and onboarding starts on Mondays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $74880.00/yr.
