Atlantic Health System Registered Nurse, Ambulatory, Full Time, Pediatric - Eating Disorder Program in Summit, New Jersey
Responsible for establishing, ensuring and supervising the office staff as well as procedures to maintain quality services and efficient operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Provides clinical support in accordance with requirements of department/division: urine dips, vital signs, weights etc. Report results to medical clinical staff in timely manner.
Coordinates and performs blood draws and the transfer of draws to the lab. Monitors labs for program patients for risk for refeeding syndrome. Communicates results to the medical staff in a timely manner.
Provide medical support for patients attending PHP and IOP. Monitor fluid status and administer fluids PRN. Dispense medication to patients as needed. Manage any medical complications that emerge during program hours.
Participates in the planning and implementation of psychoeducation groups. Supervise therapeutic meals, including extended meals.
Assist administrative staff in conducting phone intakes. Triage patients for available intake slots.
Provide clinical support to the adolescent medicine physicians. Triage phone calls. Monitor labs. Obtain prior authorizations. Coordinate medication refills. Provide on-site support at the clinic as needed.
Provide medical assistance for outpatients. Administer depo and ceftriaxone shots. Obtain weights and vitals.
Continually supports leadership team in the preparation for Joint Commission, Department of Health & other regulatory agency visits. Supports, organizes, reviews and assists team in the implementation of policies, guidelines, and recommendations of the regulatory bodies.
Assists adolescent medicine physicians in obtaining consents for research studies.
Executes special projects to assist the Manager of Clinical Services.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Required:
BSN required.
Acute care experience
BLS, ACLS required
Specialty knowledge, skills, and abilities may be required based on department/specialty group assigned
Prior Ambulatory Surgery OR Medical/Surgical experience is required.
Preferred:
Capable of working in a fast- paced environment while maintaining aseptic technique and providing excellent safe patient care.
