Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Physician Assistant for Pulmonary Services in Summit, New Jersey

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the growing Atlantic Medical Group Pulmonology team. The Physician Assistant will manage a 10-20 inpatient pulmonary service under the supervision of a large group of hospital employed pulmonary physicians. The pulmonary team works as a consulting service on a diverse array of pulmonary pathology at the prestigious Overlook Medical Center, a medium sized community hospital located in Summit, New Jersey. The pulmonary floor includes patients with diagnoses such as asthma, COPD, lung cancer, ILD, pneumonia, chronic hypoxic respiratory failure with mechanical ventilation, or pleural effusion. The candidate will work alongside hospitalists, residents, and an array of consultants. The candidate will also become proficient in simple pulmonary procedures such as thoracentesis.

This is a full-time opportunity working day shift with some weekend coverage expectations at Overlook Medical Center. There is also an opportunity for outpatient pulmonary work in a nearby office, if interested. Prior experience in pulmonology is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey

• ACLS and BLS certification required

• 1 year of pulmonary experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

• Must have excellent communication and computer skills

• Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
