Job Summary:

Akima Systems Engineering is looking for an experienced Red Hat Ansible Subject Matter Expert (SME) with extensive knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 7, 8, and 9 to work REMOTELY. The successful candidate will be responsible for automating and streamlining operations and processes, as well as maintaining and enhancing the performance of our systems within a FEDRAMP authorized AWS cloud environment for the United States Marine Corps. Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and implements Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management, application deployment, and other automation tasks

  • Provides expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting across versions 7, 8, and 9

  • Ensures systems are maintained in a FEDRAMP authorized AWS cloud environment in compliance with United States Marine Corps and DoD standards in order to support RMF authorizations.Develop and apply custom data models and algorithms to data sets

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate automation strategies and solutions within the operational environment

  • Conducts system performance tuning and monitoring to ensure high availability and reliability

  • Develops and maintains documentation related to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records

  • Provides technical guidance and support for the migration of services to the cloud, leveraging best practices for security and compliance

  • Stays current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve the operational environment

  • Participates in security audits and remediation efforts to ensure the integrity of the system

  • Mentors and trains other team members on Ansible automation and RHEL best practices

  • Supports upgrades from RHEL 7 to later versions of RHEL

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years' experience in providingexpertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting across versions 7, 8, and 9

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl

  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proficient technical writing and public speaking skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Minimum active U.S Government Secret Clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • CompTIA Linux+ Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

  • Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
