Position Summary

Work with all types of steel including stainless and galvanized, work from blue prints, sketches and diagrams in order to maintain and repair equipment such as: dewatering and drying equipment, baling and packaging equipment, guards of all types and sizes, duct work of all shapes and sizes; fabricate and lay out new fabrications and make patterns; field fit when necessary. Work must be installed for safety measures without rough edges or points.

Responsibilities

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:

Operate all machines needed to perform assigned work. Power tools include: square shears, nibbler, bending brakes, rollers, drill press, saws, portable tools such as grinders, shears, drills, impact tools, etc. Hand tools include: ratchets and sockets, hammers, open and box end wrenches, adjustable pull lifts, and rivet guns.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Learn and observe all plant safety rules and regulations. Be alert to the dangers of working with sheet metal and tools.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Must be in good physical condition. Bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, carrying heavy loads, climbing, work in extreme heat or cold and work in close congested areas. Must be able to work inside vessels and high locations.

On the Job Training:

Computer Based Learning (CBL’s), also off site training is provided when needed depending on job position and requirements.

COMMENTS:

Must be able to work well with others. Follow department and plant procedures. Be responsible for company issued tools. Should know hand signals for crane.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Prefer 5 years relative industrial sheetmetal experience, journeyman level

Good communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, good troubleshooting skills

Experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting a plus

Ability to work 12-hour rotating shift
