Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will actively contribute to a variety of design-build projects. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will engage in essential engineering activities, such as research, design preparation, and analytical modeling.
The location of work is in Subic Bay, Zambales.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in the analysis and design of structural elements for diverse projects.
Collaborate with company engineers to develop and review construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
Conduct structural calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize structural performance.
Participate in site visits and inspections to gain practical insights into construction processes and identify potential design challenges.
Update and manage Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CADD/CAM) files to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain technical drawings and specifications and ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible for project teams.
Conduct general troubleshooting of systems and equipment to provide valuable support and resolve technical issues.
Be responsible for data collection activities and assist in the preparation of comprehensive reports for project documentation.
Support quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in engineering disciplines relevant to our projects.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or any relevant degree.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD software.
Strong academic background with a focus on structural analysis and design.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral, to effectively collaborate with team members.
Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in design documentation and problem-solving.
Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for contributing to innovative and sustainable construction projects.
Must be willing to work on-site in Subic, Zambales daily.
