JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Title: Intern Location of Position: United States -- Wisconsin -- Sturgeon Bay Business Group: Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding Department: Production Management Position Type: Internship; Temporary; Non-Exempt Reports To: Assistant Production Manager Position Summary: This position is responsible for working closely with our Engineering, Project Management, Planning, and Production departments on the engineering, planning, and construction of our multiple ocean-going ATB new construction projects, as well as having the opportunity to be involved in repair projects, vessel repowering, conversions, and bid work at our vast, 63-acre facility. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront. Interns will have a mentor group who will act as a resource and point of contact for everything from our organization, vessels, and customers, to life in Door County. Detailed Description: Technical review of drawings and hands-on inspection of completed work. Coordination of various trade activities involved with all aspects of ship construction and repair. Creation and documentation of test memorandums. Troubleshoot various planning and engineering challenges as they arise. Research and develop solutions to accommodate various customer needs. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program relating to the engineering field Desired Qualifications: Junior, Senior, or graduate level Advanced coursework in the fields of Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Structural Engineering Familiarity with AutoCAD, modeling and drafting software Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to interact at all levels...
