PNC Enterprise Architect in Strongsville, Ohio

Position Overview

As an Enterprise Architect within PNC’s Enterprise Architecture organization, the preferred candidate will reside and work in one of our Technology hub locations: Birmingham, AL; Phoenix, AZ; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; or Dallas, TX. Responsibilities require time in the office with the opportunity for remote work at the manager’s discretion.

This position will be accountable for conducting architectural analysis with a heavy focus on business architecture and application portfolio rationalization using industry best practices from the business architecture and enterprise architecture domains.

The Enterprise Architect will partner with business stakeholders as well as the supporting technology teams to define and drive strategic roadmaps for transforming our application portfolio to meet our business capability needs.

The role also will assess and drive integration strategies to gain operational efficiencies, optimize product offerings and deliver a compelling client value proposition.

Key deliverables in partnership with the other stakeholders are:

• Understand key strategic direction of key business and CIO aligned areas.

• Measure and demonstrate progress against the strategy.

• Bring siloed organizations together to work towards a common strategy.

• Contribute to vibrant architecture organization, cross LOB partnerships, technologies, and processes.

• Influence at multiple levels of the organization and multiple priorities to continue to make progress.

• Provide thought leadership in solution selection that best align with the organization’s strategic objectives.

• Serves as a "trusted advisor" and partner.

• Interface with executive stakeholders to articulate business impact of technology challenges /decisions and facilitate decision making.

• Engages with strategic initiatives and planning activities to identify opportunities for reuse of capabilities.

• Create and analyze relevant information and develop technology recommendations that are presented to senior management and business stakeholders.

Some specific accountabilities:

• Review any proposed new technologies, including SaaS solutions for portfolio fit.

• Review any new application deployment for portfolio fit.

• Assess and manage the changes to the enterprise business capability model.

• Participation in the business architecture community of practice as well as the EA organization.

• Facilitating road mapping sessions

• Executive level presentations

Some key desired skills:

• Enterprise systems thinking & broad understanding of managing to a capability model.

• Strategic thinking and planning - Proactive and anticipatory in their thinking

• Experience on large strategic transformation programs

• Experience working in financial services organizations, preferably in a vendor hosted application ecosystem.

• Personal skills: Communication, Relationship Building, Collaboration, Influencing

• Certifications in Business Architecture, TOGAF, or other architecture frameworks is desirable but not required.

Job Description

  • Creates strategic roadmaps for transitioning to target enterprise future state, in alignment with business and technology goals while analyzing client requirements and collaborating with R&D divisions to provide ongoing support.

  • Creates strategic roadmaps, and aligns these with enterprise strategies, business objectives, enterprise standards, processes and methodologies.

  • Analyzes enterprise capabilities and IT opportunities in enterprise business processes; provides resolutions for enterprise architecture improvements by utilizing new technological applications.

  • Enables businesses and technology partners to drive business outcomes by providing optimum IT solutions and capabilities while mitigating risk.

  • Works with other enterprise architecture staff, experts and decision makers to accurately define client requirements; provides ongoing support for data, applications and system client requests.
