Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Airframe Structures Intern. In this role, you will be responsible for the structural integrity of aircraft to ensure elegant and safe aircraft system solutions that exceed customer expectations for mission success. Typical tasks include performing structural and modal analysis, structural design, and fatigue and static test support. As an intern you will have the opportunity to interact with Design Engineers, Material and Process Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers to drive designs to closure.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of component analysis, have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving, have a basic understanding of loading and dynamics in structural assemblies, be highly competitive and motivated to take ownership of commitments and meet objectives, and be capable of managing complex tasks and drive them to successful outcomes.

Must be a US Citizen

Basic Qualifications:

- Pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office.

- Familiar with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).

- Basic knowledge of finite element analysis.

- Able to work Full time on site at Stratford, CT facility.

- Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:

- Proficient with CATIA V5, 3DX, ANSYS, NASTRAN.

- Able to conduct structural analysis from a first principles perspective using free body diagram, and classical closed form equations.

- Able to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).

- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
