Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years full-time professional experience in an administrative role. Professional experience working at a college or university. Experience in PeopleSoft. Database Management skill set.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience using SLATE. Experience in evaluating transfer courses. Supervisory experience. Experience collaborating with faculty and departmental contacts.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Transfer Evaluation Specialist serves as an important team member within Academic and Transfer Services with direct responsibility for transfer credit evaluations. Evaluates general education courses, collaborates with faculty, and upholds the highest level of academic integrity and data accuracy. They will be the liaison for certain highly specialized programs. The Transfer Evaluation Specialist provides transfer related services to students, staff, and faculty.

The successful incumbent will have excellent student service and interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Duties:

  • Evaluate and post transfer credit evaluations and equivalencies for prospective and newly enrolled undergraduate transfer students and first-year students. Collaborate with faculty and departments in evaluating major-specific courses. Post credits for continuing students and update their records accordingly.

  • Serve as the freshmen liaison to assist with any questions and concerns Undergraduate College Advisors may have. Coordinate the input, review, evaluation, and posting of exam credit (e.g. AP, IB, CLEP) and course credit for incoming freshmen.

  • Lead on posting and updating the departmental course evaluation spreadsheets (i.e., math, biology, chemistry, physics) onto students’ records during the registration period. This process provides the foundation for advising, registration, retention and timely graduation for these students.

  • Assist with transfer related questions in the transfer email inbox. Provide time sensitive responses to emails from incoming and current students regarding a wide variety of transfer credit and other transfer related matters.

  • Divisional support: Participate in various Divisional and University programs and services including training/staff development, campus events, special events, admissions open houses, search committees, and University-wide committees.

  • Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.

Special Notes:

This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.

In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
