Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. Experience with bacterial cell culture and/or Protein purification using FPLC. Experience with laboratory math and/or data analysis.Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy and/or mammalian cell culture.

Brief Description of Duties:
Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Bowen in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. This position is to support research in protein structural biology and single molecule fluorescence microscopy. Primary duties include preparation and maintenance of cell cultures, preparation of protein and DNA samples, preparation of reagents as well as general laboratory support. Other duties will assigned by the PI as needed.

Duties:

• Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.
• Staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results as assigned by the PI.
• Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.
• Other duties or projects as assigned.
