Required Qualifications (Evidenced by an attached resume):
Doctoral Degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field of study prior to the start of the appointment. Strong experience with experimental engine testing of compression ignition, spark ignition engines, real-time gaseous and solid particle emission measurements; engine data analysis including comprehensive heat release analysis; data acquisition and control system; working knowledge of machine learning; liquid and gaseous fuel systems and related safety; and sustainable fuels.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong publication record. Experience with surrogate fuels/bio-fuels, advanced combustion modes related to No.2 diesel fuel including dual-fuel combustion, carbon neutral/low-carbon/ and other alternative, and solid/liquid/gaseous fuel combustion experience. Strong experience with net-zero and zero carbon based sustainable fuels. The funding source is from DoE and DoD, therefore Ph.D. graduates from domestic institutions are strongly preferred to fulfill DoE and DoD programmatic goals of developing domestic competitive advantage in energy related fields.Brief Description of Duties:
The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the . The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

Collect and analyze data, including periodical/literature search and utilizing specialized skills in related fields to analyze the collected data.

Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations and grant writing for proposals.

Conduct experimental work in the research area of alternative fuels for internal combustion engines.

Maintain lab and lab equipment, ordering supplies as needed.

* Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and meetings.
