The incumbent will oversee implementation of solid waste and recycling programs. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

Providing technical assistance and information to consultants, municipalities, regulated entities, and other Department staff regarding Part 350 and 360 Series regulations, such as food scrap collection, product stewardship, e-waste recycling, and solid waste management facility operations.

Conducting inspections of solid waste management facilities and other regulated entities to ensure compliance with regulations.

Participating in enforcement actions, based on information gathered during inspections.

Responding to and tracking complaints.

Reviewing registration and permit applications, fill material notifications, and beneficial use determination petitions to ensure consistency with regulations.

Reviewing and analyzing environmental monitoring data, such as soil and groundwater sampling data, and summarizing the results.

Participating in meetings and responding to inquiries from regulated entities, municipalities, and the public.

Providing presentations on solid waste and recycling matters during outreach events.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to independently travel to and within facilities.
